The Olive Oil chain
Harvesting begins from October and ends January
Olives are handpicked to ensure only quality and ripened olives are used for olive oil
Olive pickers use hands and combs
Our trees are farmed in such a way as to keep the branches low for easier picking and selection
Harvesting – Quality Control-Production-Bottling
Firstly the olives are checked in-house by an agronomist.
Then nets are layed on the ground for the olives to land.
Once the tree is harvested the nets are drawn in together to collect the olives into the centre of the net.
Once this is done, the olives are then placed into woven sacks and taken directly to the olive mill – lytrivi – for pressing, all within 24 hrs.
This select process of harvesting is to ensure quality extra virgin olive oil with no defects.
